• Removing leaves on the vine in the proper location and time of year can increase air flow and dappled light throughout the canopy in the afternoon hours
• A costly job by hand, mechanically leafing a vineyard allows for this advanced cultural operation in vineyards where they would not have otherwise afforded the opportunity
• Decrease Powdery Mildew, Botrytis, and Sour Rot pressure by allowing air to flow freely around the clusters and preventing moisture from getting "trapped" in the canopy
