Our Team

With a combined 125 vintages (not to mention the decades of experience represented by assistant vineyard managers and field foremen), the management team at VPS has farmed in every county from Mendocino to Santa Barbara. Along the way, managers have participated on the Boards of many statewide wine industry organizations (Heinzen with GWSS/PD), sustainable agriculture advocacy groups (Heinzen with ASFMRA, Napa Green and RCDs, Winstead with County Ag Advisory), and local wine industry leadership (Heinzen and Winstead with the PRWCA, Smith and Gonzales with IGGPRA, Matthews with the Vineyard Team). VPS actively participates with research initiatives from Cal Poly, UC Davis and the USDA, and help promote viticultural improvement and outreach groups (including NGRA, AVF and Paso Robles Vit Tech). Along with the strong commitment to individual professional development, VPS encourages a team-like attitude in regards to client satisfaction through robust communication, scheduled team meetings and regular group excursions that foster a true sense of camaraderie among the VPS staff.
